We are looking for Electrical Test Technicians (Intern/Co-Op position) to join our Cincinnati, Ohio team! This internship offers a tremendous learning opportunity due to the exposure to a wide variety of electrical devices such as relays, circuit breakers, contactors, transmitters and so on. In this position you will learn fundamental operating parameters and get hands on practice of theoretical applications.

Electrical Technician Interns/Co-Ops at the Curtiss-Wright Nuclear Division QualTech NP Cincinnati location work under direct supervision, performing moderately complex technical functions related to the testing of a wide variety of electrical, mechanical and electro-mechanical components and systems. Utilizing test procedures and other written instructions, selecting the appropriate Measurement & Test Equipment, building test set-ups, and conducting tests to collect data and evaluate the operability and acceptability of the components or system to the requirements of the test plan. Documenting data on applicable data sheets. Recording and reporting failures and test anomalies. Working with engineering and project coordinators as needed in the development of test procedures. Participating in continuous improvement activities. Performing all work in a safe and efficient manner.

Your Challenge:

• Solid understanding of electricity

• Alternating and Direct current

• Using Ohm’s Law, apply electrical theory and related knowledge to test electrical control equipment, calculate and construct resistive loads

• Assemble and test switch panels, transformers, solenoids, and other electrical equipment and components according to test plans and knowledge of electrical principles.

• Develop wiring diagrams and layout drawings

• Measure voltage, current, capacitance, inductance, impedance and resistance

• Construction of series and parallel circuits for both AC and DC circuits

• Use of power supplies, voltmeters, high potential testers, meggers, decade resistance boxes, primary current injection testing, automatic relay testing, ScopeCorders and other electrical testing devices

• Three-phase electric power

• Connections of transformers power “Y” or star and delta.

• Detail oriented

• Basic computer skills (MS Office)
