POSITION SUMMARY: Buyer will be responsible for managing purchasing activities for the DSG-Canusa, Fairfield, OH facility. This includes contacting and negotiating with vendors, obtaining quotes, placing PO's, making receipts in IFS, addressing discrepancies, and expediting orders as needed. Buyer will be responsible for all spend including raw materials, parts, services, Kanban, shipping supplies, office supplies, MRO, etc. Buyer will be responsible for using our ERP system as the main tool for planning, analyzing, and executing purchase orders. The maintenance of system information within the procurement and supply chain modules of the ERP system will be the responsibility of the buyer for the assigned tank facility. DUTIES: A. Manage all MRP based purchasing through IFS and validate accuracy of MRP requisitions by analyzing demand forecasts, inventory levels, open orders and any other data points related to the suppliers and goods under MRP. B. Manage all non-MRP PRs through manual requisitions in IFS. Ensure that non-inventory part numbers and suppliers for purchase parts are setup properly. C. Maintain the data in IFS on a regular basis to ensure MRP functions at the highest possible level. (Past due purchase order lines, pricing, min/max levels, etc.). D. Monitors purchases so that inventories are at a level to meet manufacturing needs. Ensure that regularly used goods and raw materials do not suffer a stockout. E. Generates purchase orders, schedules deliveries, monitors status of purchase orders, follow up with suppliers, and update requisitioners on status of orders. Buyer is responsible until the goods are received in IFS. F. Contact suppliers to resolve supply shortages, missed deliveries, wrong orders. G. Attends all required meetings and provides adequate communication and updates to internal stakeholders at the plant. REQUIREMENTS: • Minimum 3 to 5 years related experience within manufacturing • Minimum High School Education • Computer proficiency including familiarity using a variety of databases and ERP, MRP, excel • Understand lean inventory management techniques in a manufacturing environment • Understand the cradle to grave purchasing cycle • Capable of reading and understanding engineered drawing packages and technical requirements • Experience with sourcing machining and fabrication services • Excellent organizational and communication skills • Strong multi-tasking skills and an exceptional attention to detail essential • Excellent interpersonal skills, with strong ability to communicate via phone and email • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage professional vendor relationships WHAT MATTR OFFERS • At Mattr, safety comes first!
