The selected individual will provide Sports Medicine care to physically active children, adolescents, and young adults in urban and suburban settings. If desired, there may be opportunity to maintain a primary care practice in the Division of Adolescent and Transition Medicine. Our division is housed in the Department of Pediatrics and is home to 7 primary care sports physicians, 2 physical therapists with academic appointments (with a large Sports PT team), a Research Associate and 2 Clinical Research Assistants, and 1-2 fellows yearly. Our program has the only youth-focused athletic training team in the area and supports 5 local high schools, 3 gymnastics centers, and multiple youth sports organization. We have one of the only dedicated pediatric Sports Medicine research labs in the US, with excellent research capability and support available. We work closely with the Divisions of Orthopedic Surgery, the Division of Occupational and Physical Therapy, and the Department of Radiology, as well as the rest of the Department of Pediatrics, to perform full service Sports Medicine care to our patients. It is expected that 80% of the faculty member's time would focus on clinical activities at one of our 6 satellite locations. The faculty member will have 20% time focused on administrative and scholarly activities, which could include research and/or resident/fellow education. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with an established team of educators and researchers at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and will have an academic appointment at the medical school.
