We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a reputable manufacturing company in Chula Vista. This position is essential for supporting the accounting team with various financial activities and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The Staff Accountant will play a vital role in the month-end closing process, providing insights to enhance financial operations. This role is contract or contract-to-hire, offering opportunities for professional development within a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the month-end close by preparing journal entries and performing detailed analysis of general accounts and reconciliations.

• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient team environment.

• Conduct monthly reconciliations between subledgers and the general ledger to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.

• Ensure all financial transactions comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and organizational policies.

• Respond to requests for financial information, review financial statements for accuracy, and assist in the audit process.

• Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying transactions and posting entries at month-end to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

• Collaborate with the finance team to assist in the preparation of budgets on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

• Participate in weekly meetings with the overseas finance team to discuss financial operations and strategies.

• Effectively manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Prepare local tax filings and coordinate with the tax firm for quarterly and annual reports.

  Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).

Proven experience in accounting roles, preferably in a manufacturing environment (preferred).

Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.

Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members.

Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
