Additional information can be found at www.ttm.com The Director of Process Engineering directs and manages the research, design and development of state-of-the-art printed circuit fabrication products, processes and equipment. Develops objectives, plans, and operating procedures that maximize safety, quality, productivity and improve cost effectiveness. Duties and Responsibilities: Plan, develop and implement strategy for engineering management and development. Establish and maintain appropriate systems for measuring necessary aspects of engineering management and development. Define technical staff skills requirements. Set policy on process, equipment, and material standardization. Set technical roadmap for the division and/or corporation. Establish and maintain process capabilities and product features lists. Seek best manufacturing practices. Obtain resources necessary to supplement in-house engineering capabilities. Capital equipment planning. Work with other functional/departmental managers to understand all necessary aspects and needs of engineering/technical development, and to ensure they are fully informed of engineering objectives, purposes and achievements. Maintain awareness and knowledge of contemporary technological development theory and methods and provide suitable interpretation to directors, managers and staff. Contribute to the evaluation and development of technological strategy and performance in cooperation with the executive team. Follow all safety measures when handling chemicals and hazardous waste with regard to use, mixing and disposing chemicals. Manages plant Engineering Managers through effective selection, training, and evaluation of members and through effective delegation and follow-up of tasks. Responsible to mentor engineers, co-ops, and interns, and for explaining company guidelines, policies, safety rules and regulations to subordinates as well as counsel employees with work-related problems/issues.
