Position Purpose
We’re seeking a spirited “can do” person to join our Warehouse team in the exciting world of hazmat compliance. The Warehouse Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for various inbound and outbound job functions. Breaking down and checking product, completion of paperwork associated. Additional tasks include scheduling of inbound and outbound shipments; LTL and BOL creation, hands-on Receiving, Put Away and Outbound Shipment Processing. Excellent written and verbal skills essential required. Ideal candidate has had a minimum of 2+ years’ Warehousing and Logistics experience including forklift operation. This position can offer growth and advancement opportunity.
Essential Functions & Principal Accountabilities
Receiving-may encompass scheduling of shipments, hands-on unloading shipments from trailer, print necessary paperwork, process inbound shipments from outside suppliers or manufacturing plant including breakdown of materials, verifying accurate part numbers, labeling and quantities following established procedures, partner with QA.
Outbound LTL Shipments-includes coordination of shipments with various carriers, BOL creation, freight quotes, various carrier portal entries. Hands-on preparation of shipments with shrink- wrap, corner boards and additional packaging as required following established procedures while verifying quantities, communicate required reports.
Put Away-moving materials and stocking into storage locations following established procedures.
Replenishment-relocating materials from storage locations following established procedures.
Return Processing-includes verification of materials and RMA Number when provided, printing necessary paperwork, partnering with Accounting or General office, communicate required reports.
Data Entry, timely email communications, other warehouse functions.
Safely operate forklift or other machinery to complete tasks such as loading, unloading, sorting, picking, stocking, staging and transportation of goods, following established procedures.
Maintains condition of work area including dock, outside in front of dock, (EX: free of trash, product in correct location, etc.). Follows company safety policies including truck jack, dock leveler usage, truck chocks, when necessary, other safety procedures encourage other associates to do the same.
Meet productivity and accuracy goals.
Adhere to schedule including start time, breaks and lunch periods.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
2-3 Years Previous Warehouse experience preferred
Ability to work overtime when needed.
Forklift and Equipment Operator Experience
Familiarity with RF Scanners
Computer Experience
Good written communication skills
Good verbal communication skills
Problem Solving Skills
Ability to work independently and multi-task.
Team Player
Strong interpersonal skills
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent experience
Warehousing and Forklift Experience
Essential Physical Demands
- Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds in a physical environment. Ability to stand for periods of time up to and exceeding 60 minutes. Ability to make repetitive movements, including, but not limited to, using a 10-key or calculator, bending, or squatting.
