We are seeking a results-driven Global Markets Advisor (“GMA”) with a proven track record in sales to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will provide a markets-based suite of risk management solutions through derivative products to BMO Bank’s U.S Commercial clients. This role is client facing with primary sales focus on the marketing of Interest Rate (“IR”) and/or Foreign Exchange (“FX”) risk management solutions. This role requires a strong sales background, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to balance tactical execution with strategic planning to drive measurable results.

GMA’s are a part of the Global Markets Corporate Sales and Structuring team with key performance indicators linked to business generation across Global Markets. Coverage is based on geographic and/or industry specific verticals within BMO Bank. GMA’s partner closely with Commercial Bankers, the Treasury & Payments Solutions team and internal stakeholders to identify new client opportunities and ensure the delivery of Global Markets products to commercial clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Revenue generation through delivery of FX and/or IR solutions to BMO’s US Commercial client base

  • Track and analyze key sales performance and coverage activity metrics, ensuring accountability and continuous improvement. Maintain opportunity pipelines through various CRM tools

  • Maintain client and internal relationships through frequent in person interactions

  • Partner with structuring & execution desk, bankers, portfolio managers, legal, onboarding, credit and risk colleagues to ensure seamless client experience and compliance with all internal and external policies and procedures

  • Work closely with bankers to align sales efforts with broader business strategies

  • Continuously customize sales processes to maximize efficiency and effectiveness

  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and client needs to guide sales strategy and decision-making

  • Create and maintain pitch and marketing materials

  • Provide ongoing training, development, and support to partners across the firm and junior team members to enhance skills and capabilities

  • Support the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Consider risk, internal controls and compliance as part of day-to-day accountabilities and adhere to policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Typically, between 5 - 7 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree

  • Experience with marketing of IR and/or FX solutions for corporate/commercial clients, including the use of options

  • Demonstrated ability of success in a sales role

  • Ability to educate and explain complex products to a wide client base with varying backgrounds

  • Proficient in CRM systems and data analysis to track and manage sales performance

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a results-oriented mindset

  • Thorough knowledge of capital markets, pricing, and sales/trading/hedging strategies for IR and/or FX

  • Understanding CVA, FVA and XVA and its implications when pricing deals

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Strong understanding of relevant regulatory and financial concepts

  • Advanced deal execution and/or project management skills - ability to manage more than one client / major initiative

  • Familiarity with navigating financial statements, financial reports and legal documents to identify opportunities and facilitate analysis

  • Uses analytical skills and applies appropriate technical concepts and completes/leads consistent and reliable technical and financial reports/analyses to support client deliverables.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
