Job Description:

As a Crisis Management Supervisor, you will be an integral part of our Crisis Management team, responsible for key aspects of the Crisis Management program and swiftly and effectively responding to unforeseen global / enterprise-level crises. Your role will focus on minimizing the impact of crises on our organization’s operations, reputation, and stakeholders, and increasing the organization’s resilience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Before a Crisis

  • Assess Risks: Identify vulnerabilities and detect emerging crises within the McDonald’s System, globally.

  • Develop Plans: Create and maintain comprehensive crisis management plans for various scenarios.

  • Conduct Crisis Simulations: Develop and host regular training sessions for McDonald’s cross-functional Crisis Management Team staff leveraging potential crisis situations and response protocols.

  • During a Crisis

  • Serve as a Central Information Hub: Serve as a point of contact during crises, driving collaboration across internal and external stakeholders; identify decisions, decision-makers, and resources needed; provide clear and timely communications / status updates to leadership; maintain detailed records of crisis response actions and follow up on all outstanding items.

  • Provide Strategic Direction: serve as a thought partner to the Crisis Management Team on how to navigate complex and high-stakes situations.

  • After a Crisis

  • Conduct After Action Reports: hold discussions on strengths, areas of opportunity, and lessons learned; document and summarize output for leadership.

  • Evolve the program: Continuously evaluate effectiveness of crisis management strategies, recommend improvements to the operating model or supporting technology, and implement these enhancements.

  • Ongoing

  • Design, develop, and deliver key components of the global crisis management program.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Emergency Management, or related field.

  • 1+ years of experience in crisis management or a related field (such as strategy, project management, etc.).

  • Project or workstream management experience or skills.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.

  • Proficiency in crisis management software and tools.

Preferred Skills:

  • Certification in Crisis Management or Business Continuity.

  • Experience working for large, global brands.

  • Consulting or advisory experience.

  • Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and compliance standards.
