Job Title: SuperintendentJob Description

Coordinate all site activities to complete on time, within budget, and meet high-quality expectations. With assistance from the Project Manager, establish a construction schedule and develop and maintain the Project Master Schedule. Assist in developing thorough scopes of work and ensure procurement dates are met. Work with municipalities on special conditions and requirements, and collaborate with owners, architects, and subcontractors on project issues.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all site activities to ensure timely and budget-compliant project completion.

  • Establish and maintain the Project Master Schedule.

  • Assist in developing thorough scopes of work, including critical delivery paths.

  • Review purchases/material orders and subcontracts.

  • Keep Project Manager informed of changing dates or requirements in the field.

  • Review material schedule and procurement status at weekly job progress meetings.

  • Assist Project Manager in resolving procurement issues.

  • Work with municipalities to determine special conditions and requirements.

  • Collaborate with owners, architects, and subcontractors on project problems.

  • Require subcontractors to fix incorrect work and recommend appropriate actions to the Project Manager.

Essential Skills

  • Subcontractor management

  • Construction Management

  • Construction supervision

  • Procore

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or related field

  • 1-3 years of experience as a lead superintendent on site

  • Experience managing large budgeted projects ($1M+)

  • Experience tracking projects using Procore

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • OSHA 30 certification

  • Commercial Construction

  • General contractor experience

  • Site management

  • Highly organized

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to perform well under pressure

  • Proficient in interacting with team members and fostering positive professional relationships

  • Embraces a learning mindset and open to training and coaching

  • Candidates ideally located on the north side of Chicago (Arlington Heights or Waukegan Areas)

Work Environment

This is a 100% on-site role with project locations throughout Illinois and Northwest Indiana. Consultants are eligible for mileage reimbursement for trips beyond the job site, such as picking up materials or traveling to another job site within the Chicagoland area.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.08 - $52.88
