We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team in CHICAGO, Illinois. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity in the industry. The Staff Accountant will be primarily responsible for managing customer accounts, processing applications, and maintaining accurate records. Candidate needs to be highly skilled in AP & AR and have 1 year of legal experience in their background.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately and efficiently process Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Conduct regular Bank Reconciliations to ensure accuracy

• Maintain and update the General Ledger consistently

• Prepare and post Journal Entries as part of the Month End Close process

• Utilize software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, SAP for various accounting tasks

• Work with Aderant system for specific accounting operations

• Handle Billing procedures and ensure all collections are done in a timely manner

• Apply legal knowledge where necessary to ensure compliance in all accounting tasks.

Requirements • Applicant must possess a minimum of one year of experience as a Staff Accountant.

• Proficiency in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is required.

• Experience in Bank Reconciliations is mandatory.

• Familiarity with General Ledger management.

• Capable of accurately recording Journal Entries.

• Experience in Month End Close procedures.

• Proficiency in using NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP for accounting functions.

• Knowledge of Aderant software is a plus.

• Experience in Billing procedures is needed.

• Legal Knowledge relevant to accounting practices is desirable.
