Description

We are offering a contract employment opportunity for a Sr. Buyer in CHICAGO, Illinois. In this role, you will be working closely with the purchasing and operations team, manufacturers, and suppliers, ensuring the efficient procurement of distributed product and production materials, and coordinating transportation of these items.

Responsibilities

• Carry out the purchasing of distributed product and production materials as required

• Utilize your knowledge of work orders and ERP systems to ensure accurate planning requirements

• Manage relationships with vendors assigned to you, ensuring cost-effective and timely coordination of transportation

• Engage in materials demand generation and identify low-cost suppliers to optimize procurement processes

• Negotiate price, terms, and contracts with manufacturers and suppliers

• Monitor inventory levels and control inventory across multiple warehouses

• Maintain consistent communication with internal teams, manufacturers, and suppliers

• Utilize ERP Solutions, Sage X3, and Microsoft Excel in performing accounting functions and managing buying processes

Requirements

• Applicant must have close to 10 years of experience in a Buyer role or a similar position.

• Proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is essential (Sagex3)

• Knowledge of Accounting Functions.

• Expertise in Accounts Payable (AP) is essential.

• Familiarity with various Buying Processes is necessary.

• Strong Communication Skills are required, including both verbal and written communication.

• Experience in Client Communications is critical.

• Competence in Email Communications is necessary.

• Proficiency in Internal Communications is required.

• Ability to manage External Communication effectively is crucial.

• Proven ability to Negotiate Contracts is necessary.

• Demonstrated ability to Negotiate Pricing effectively is crucial.

• Experience in Negotiating Terms is essential.

• Strong Negotiation skills are required.

• Familiarity with Sage X3 is highly desirable.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
