We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity in the banking industry based in Chicago, Illinois. We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team. Your role will include processing and maintaining accurate records, monitoring accounts, and effectively managing inquiries.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough account reconciliation processes to ensure accuracy.

• Perform balance sheet reconciliation tasks, ensuring all financial statements align.

• Manage bank reconciliations, verifying we are correctly documenting all transactions.

• Maintain the general ledger, ensuring it accurately reflects our financial position.

• Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring all transactions are recorded.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for various financial analysis and reporting tasks.

• Participate in month-end close processes, ensuring all necessary tasks are completed on time.

• Utilize NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP for various accounting tasks and functions.

Requirements • Must have a proven track record in Account Reconciliation

• Proficiency in Balance Sheet Reconciliation is essential

• Experience with Bank Reconciliations is required

• Should have extensive knowledge of General Ledger maintenance

• Ability to prepare Journal Entries accurately and efficiently

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is necessary

• Must have experience in Month End Close procedures

• Familiarity with NetSuite software is a plus

• Proficient in Oracle software

• Experience with SAP software is preferred

• Must hold a degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Previous experience in a senior accounting role within the banking industry is highly desirable

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy is essential

• Must be able to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to accounting and taxation is preferred.
