Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant in Chicago, Illinois, within the accounting industry. This role involves a variety of accounting tasks, including the completion of daily and monthly journal entries, managing fixed assets, and leading the intercompany reconciliation process. You will also be involved in forecasting and budgeting, as well as preparing department expense reports and variance analysis.

Responsibilities:

• Completion of daily and monthly journal entries for corporate entities, and maintaining the respective account reconciliations

• Uploading and validating total company actuals data to the consolidation system

• Preparing monthly closing reports with variance analyses and implementing changes to improve financial performance

• Managing the annual ASC842 Lease Accounting process

• Assisting in forecast, budget with SGA and Capex deliverables, and other ad hoc projects

• Preparing department expense reports for Corporate and Support functions and providing variance analysis

• Leading the intercompany reconciliation process across the organization

• Compiling plant/BU data into consolidated schedules on a regular basis and also ad hoc for budget and forecasts

• Maintaining Corporate and various international fixed assets and consolidating fixed assets information from all locations

• Proficient with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel

• Possess strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills

• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines

• Effective problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities

• High motivation and professional demeanor

• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. Requirements • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience as an Accountant

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations is necessary

• Familiarity with General Ledger and Journal Entries is a must

• Ability to use Microsoft Excel for various accounting tasks

• Experience with Month End Close procedures is required

• Knowledge of NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP software is essential

• Must have excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred

• Should have a strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team is crucial

• Must have the ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and the ability to detect inconsistencies in data.
