GCG Senior Staff Accountant - Chicago, IL in Chicago, Illinois

Overview

Paige, a GCG company, is currently seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join our growing accounting and finance team!

As GCG’s Senior Staff Accountant , you will leverage your finance and accounting expertise to analyze company and customer profitability by conducting variance analyses, account reconciliations, and maintenance of the general ledger. You will work closely with other members of the accounting team in conducting analyses of inventory transactions and cash / sales reports. Additionally, you will work with the Business Unit Controller and other members of the Finance team on other ad hoc projects as needed.

This role offers a hybrid work arrangement reporting to our Chicago, IL office 1-3 days a week.

Office address : 8550 W. Bryn Mawr Ave Chicago, IL.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00am CST to 5:00pm CST.

What you’ll do

  • Regulate policies and procedures in accordance with GAAP

  • Ensure accuracy of general ledger and financial statements

  • Reconcile GL accounts, perform variance analyses, and execute assigned month end close duties

  • Perform frequent analysis of inventory transactions, specifically inventory adjustments, cycle counts, and scrap

  • Develop understanding of and assist with the daily sales and cash processes

  • Assist with year-end audit procedures

  • Perform additional accounting functions and analysis as needed to support the business

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration

  • 3+ years of experience in Finance/Accounting; previous experience within a manufacturing or distribution environment strongly preferred

  • Previous experience working with an ERP system preferred

  • Demonstrated, advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite specifically Microsoft Excel, creating calculations and data visualizations

  • Ability to work under pressure and regularly prioritize tasks

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
