Aspen Dental Reporting Engineer in Chicago, Illinois

As a reflection of our current needs and planned growth we are very pleased to offer a new opportunity to join our dedicated team as a Reporting Engineer.

As a Reporting Engineer, you will join one of our teams focused on ensuring the business has the right data, right reports at the right time. You will also be working alongside our larger data team modernizing our legacy systems by developing new processes/reporting using cloud-native GCP technologies.

Responsibilities :

  • Assist in estimation and timeline of tasks assigned.

  • Ensure clear communication to Lead and Manager on any questions/roadblocks/issue on assigned tasks.

  • Ensure timely updates on assigned tasks/tickets to allow for visibility of statuses to all of IT management.

  • Create clear processes/reporting and documentation to drive business confidence and understanding of reporting.

  • Understand overall business and detail understanding of business partner needs and pain points.

  • Ability to create POC document and discuss in team meeting ideas on team deliverables/improvements to deliver better values/automations/reporting to business groups.

  • Contribute toward evolving company’s analytical self-service/ ad hoc reporting/Data Analytics processes and/or products.

  • Assist in the design/development/implementation/tracking of automated data quality and reporting.

  • Assist in on-call rotation and creation of issue knowledge documentation.

  • Work as a BI Team and assist/ask for assistance from team to grow overall team knowledge and synergies.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer Science or related field. Master’s Degree in computer Science or Engineering preferred.

  • 3 years of IT/ Analytics/ Reporting experience

  • 3 years of experience and abilities with SQL.

  • Experience with data modeling and working with schemas.

  • 3 years of experience working in team dynamic and assisting others in meeting task and timeline delivery.

  • Experienced with building out and maintaining KPIs, metrics, alarms, and monitoring of services

Desired Characteristics:

  • Strong desire to work with analytics data and partners

  • Experience in MS SQL, Big Query, Snowflake, PostGres and DBT.

  • Experience in GCP, AWS is highly desirable.

  • Experience in Data Cleansing/Transformation

  • Experience in Data Modeling

  • Experience in sourcing and processing structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
