Legrand has an exciting opportunity for aProcurement Managerto join theLighting Sector Focal Point Teamin Chicago, IL.TheProcurement Managerwill be responsible for developing and executing excellence on the day-to-day purchasing operations providing all components needed to maintain on time delivery to customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will be required to manage the supply base, supporting the business on initiatives related to productivity, supply chain, and product improvements. Support corporate activities as QBR, score cards, CSR initiatives providing data.

They will lead, drive and influence supplier performance, and resolve open issues. This role will need to work cross functionally in order to influence leaders and other internal customers to help drive and execute broad business decisions.

The Manager will develop policies, technologies and tools, objectives, tactical plans and procedures for the operation of procurement and purchasing activities. This position will supervise and mentor the buying staff in purchasing methodologies, tools, supplier interactions and relationship.

What Will You Do?

Procurement:

  • Establish KPM's that manage supplier performance to quality, delivery, quantity, service and cost reduction expectations. Supplier and commodity spend management, PPV/IPV tracking, RTV.

  • Work directly and collaboratively with Engineering leaders and product Managers as well as suppliers to identify technical synergy opportunities on existing products across the business.

  • Responsible for keeping inventory on optimal levels to support key metrics and customer satisfaction. Monitor shortages and past due orders and take actions.

  • Responsible for ERP system accuracy and performance for safety stock, lead times, MOQ, forecast and other critical set ups.

  • Identify and support Supply Chain initiatives, such as Lead Time Reduction, Inventory Reduction, Service Level Improvements.

  • Partner with LNCA Sourcing Team for identification and delivery of material cost savings projects.

  • Responsible for eliminating roadblocks and challenges and delivering savings projects on-time. Partnership with Value Engineering to conduct analysis of purchased components and materials.

  • Engage in reviews with the business and supply base, to foster collaboration and cooperation. Establishment of relationships with functional and business leaders to ensure category strategies meet the business goals and objectives.

  • Institute lean purchasing which is integrated into our total value chain; and create a future value stream in the procurement process. Create and maintain a flow of information while establishing a pull of information and product.

    Supervision:

  • Develop a highly functioning, responsive and flexible purchasing team. Responsible for effectively leading all aspects of team performance management.

  • Prioritize staff and category management workloads to meet product needs/objectives in all areas. Develop and train staff to ensure high skill levels and succession planning.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations Management Concentration, or equivalent experience.

  • 8 years’ experience in Sourcing with 3-5 years in manage/leadership roles.

  • Global sourcing experience in Electrical / Electronic products preferred.

  • Microsoft office software proficiency (excel, word, power point, etc.).

  • JD Edwards ERP systems experience preferred.

  • ISM CPSM certification preferred.

  • APICS CPIM / CSCP a plus.
