Robert Half Paralegal in Chicago, Illinois

Description We are in search of a Paralegal to join our team in the industry located in Chicago, Illinois. Your role will be pivotal in supporting our lawyers and tax professionals in managing property tax cases. You will contribute to a series of tasks that include research, documentation, communication, organization, and compliance in relation to property tax laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Gather and analyze relevant information related to property tax cases through research into public records and other sources.

• Assist in the preparation of documents related to property tax cases including appeals, assessment reports, and tax bills.

• Maintain regular communication with clients and local government officials to discuss property tax matters, evaluate issues, and provide updates on ongoing cases.

• Exhibit strong organizational skills by managing multiple cases simultaneously, tracking deadlines, and maintaining confidential client files.

• Ensure all processes and documents comply with local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to property taxes.

• Provide support during litigation by preparing for hearings or trials, coordinating exhibits, and assisting attorneys.

• Demonstrate a strong understanding of property tax laws and regulations, as well as detailed knowledge of property valuation.

• Conduct post-case wrap-up and support functions.

• Use your skills in Aderant, Adobe Acrobat, Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS), Case Management Software, CompuLaw, Billing Functions, Briefing, Calendar Management, Claim Administration, and Communication to perform your tasks efficiently. Requirements • Proficiency in Aderant is essential for managing legal practice and financial management

• Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat for document management and editing

• Familiarity with the Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS) for real estate transaction information

• Experience with Case Management Software to organize and manage legal cases effectively

• Working knowledge of CompuLaw for calendar management and deadline tracking

• Capability to handle Billing Functions for financial management

• Ability to carry out Briefing tasks for case preparation and legal research

• Proficiency in Calendar Management for scheduling appointments and tracking deadlines

• Experience in Claim Administration for handling and processing legal claims

• Excellent Communication skills for effective interaction with clients, attorneys, and court personnel
