TEKsystems has a client that is seeking a Firewall Engineer. This role will assist with the planning, architectural design, installation, and maintenance of cloud-based network systems. This Network Engineer will be responsible for network-related break/fix situations, project implementations and establish best practices. Expert experience with Azure, Cisco, and Palo Alto is highly desired. This position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, working with other team members to complete highly complex projects and deployments.

• Design, implement, and maintain Azure network infrastructure, including virtual networks, subnets, network security groups, and routing

• Configure and manage Palo Alto firewalls to secure the Azure environment

• Collaborate with the cloud operations team to analyze and make changes to the Azure network routing

• Provide support and troubleshooting for the Azure network environment

• Developing and producing system architecture plans and designs, test plans, implementation plans, operation guides, and offering overall subject matter expertise for enterprise network solutions.

• Monitoring of LAN infrastructure identifying potential security, speed, and performance improvements.

• Installing and configuring network resources on-prem such as Palo Alto Firewalls, Cisco switches, SDWAN

• Utilizing available network troubleshooting tools, including network packet captures, monitoring devices, and log files to facilitate effective issue resolution.

• Provide Tier 3 support for advanced troubleshooting of network or systems related issues.

• Extensive experience with Azure networking, including virtual networks, subnets, and network security groups

• Proficient in configuring and managing Palo Alto firewalls

• Strong understanding of network security concepts and best practices

• Experience with network automation tools like Terraform

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams

• The key technical skills required for this role based on the meeting transcript are:

• Proficiency in configuring and managing Palo Alto firewalls

• Knowledge of network security, including experience with network segmentation, firewall rules, and network security groups

• Manage Azure Network/Application Security Groups, in a highly segmented environment

• Cisco switches and routers: 3K, 7K, 9K Catalyst series IOS, Nexus

• Ethernet technologies: spanning tree, vlans, trunking, channeling, multilayer switching

• IP routing protocols: OSPF, BGP, RIP, HSRP

• Juniper Routers

• Manage Palo Alto firewalls with Panorama

• Manage global Velocloud SD-WAN environment.

• Manage Zscaler Cloud Security Gateway

Nice to have:

• Load balancers - F5, KEMP, NetScaler – recommended

• Proficiency in data security and vulnerability remediation – recommended

• Experience with Terraform, Azure CLI, Azure DevOps deployment pipelines

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Extensive experience with Azure networking, including virtual networks, subnets, and network security groups

• Proficient in configuring and managing Palo Alto firewalls

• Strong understanding of network security concepts and best practices

• Experience with network automation tools like Terraform

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $75.00
