Pangea Real Estate Operations Analyst in Chicago, Illinois

CYM Living is currently looking for a full-time Operations Analyst to add to our team. Successful candidates will be self-driven, dynamic communicators, team players, and be able to work effectively in an entrepreneurial environment. The ideal candidate will bring 1-3 years of business operations or real estate experience, with robust experience developing and implementing operational processes using both highly technical and soft skills to determine the root of the problem and the most effective solution. This role works to improve CYM’s operational performance by leveraging data and insights from staff to implement positive change throughout the organization. This role will be highly cross-functional, working with every team in the company, and will require a natural leader inclined to ask questions and challenge the status quo. Highly effective and confident interpersonal and communication skills with a diverse audience, including senior executives, will be a critical success factor in this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

Analytical

  • Closely monitor weekly trends in operational metrics such as leasing activity, productivity, and relative workloads;

  • Create analytics to drive decision making using SQL, Excel, and Property Management software;

  • Run ad hoc projects/analyses to create strategic recommendations based on data analysis;

  • Measure performance against process requirements, aligning improvement projects to close performance shortfalls.

Process Improvement and Development

  • Implement new operational initiatives to cut cycle time, improve efficiency, and increase customer satisfaction;

  • Identify areas of improvement in business processes and implement solutions;

  • Research, diagnose, and resolve technical issues both independently and as a part of a team;

  • Train and support company staff of all levels on operational initiatives.

Administrative

  • Prepare meeting materials and present to a varied audience;

  • Be the main point of contact for some vendor relationships, and handle contract negotiations to be reviewed and signed by upper management;

  • Manage seasonal and ad hoc projects as directed by supervisor;

  • Suggest work schedule changes based on business needs, and process the changes once approved;

  • Update various software settings and information as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in finance/economics, real estate, entrepreneurship, or related major required

  • Minimum 3.5 GPA

  • 1-3 years of business operations, real estate or data experience

  • Microsoft Office skills are a huge plus

  • Experience with Yardi, SQL, business intelligence tools (Tableau, Looker, etc.) a huge plus

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Must be able to communicate effectively to all departments and levels of the organization

  • Must have the ability and willingness to work both independently and cooperatively in a team environment

  • Strong desire to learn and take on responsibility quickly
