As an airline, safety is our most important principle. And our Corporate Safety team is responsible for making sure safety is top of mind in every action we take. From conducting flight safety investigations and educating pilots on potential safety threats to implementing medical programs and helping prevent employee injuries, our team is instrumental in running a safe and successful airline for our customers and employees.
Job overview and responsibilities
The Manager, Investigations & Accident Technical Response (ATR), is responsible for ensuring technical response preparedness, leading the evolution of safety promotional products, and accomplishing Significant Injury/Damage Investigations (SIDIs) at United Airlines. This role will lead a team of Senior Analysts, Safety Investigations who support functions of the Flight Safety Investigation (FSI) Team. Some travel (25-30%) is required for this role.
Ensures the continued technical response preparedness of United Airlines in the event of an aircraft accident/incident via the management of equipment, codifying of standards, and execution of drills for the Aircraft Recovery, Investigation, and Scene Teams at United Airlines
Evaluates safety promotion from data obtained via the Flight Safety Investigation (FSI) Team through leadership of two Senior Analysts, Safety Investigations
Oversees the execution of the Significant Injury/Damage Investigation process (SIDI) for events where injuries or aircraft damage is sustained and there is no intention for flight
Assists with the development, administration, and execution of policies and procedures for the daily support of the Senior Manager, FSI & ATR
The salary for this position is $104,000 to $140,800, dependent on job-related, non discriminatory factors such as experience, education and skills. This range is based on a full-time schedule.

Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree or related experience
Aviation Safety, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Airport Operations, and/or OSHA-related study or experience
3+ years of experience in aviation safety/aviation operations and airline management experience
Strong expertise in Microsoft Office, SQL/Python, database query, data visualization/brand building/refining, quantitative/statistical analytics
Working knowledge of/experience with Airport Operations and/or OSHA-related investigative best practices
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
Preferred
Bachelor's degree
Emergency Response-related study or experience
1-2+ years of experience in Computer Science or Data Analytics
Project management expertise
Advanced experience in Microsoft Office, SQL/Python, database query experience, data visualization/brand building/refining, quantitative/statistical analytics
Advanced knowledge of/experience with Airport Operations and/or OSHA-related investigative best practices
