Primary Purpose

Responsible for administering H&W programs and serves as the subject matter expert in the company's H&W and related Plans and programs, including FSA and HSA plans, severance and tuition assistance. Works directly with outsourced benefits administrators regarding delivery of H&W and related benefits such as Tuition Assistance, Outplacement services, etc. Acts as a primary company representative and liaison with internal clients and outsourced benefits administrator related to H&W / FSA and related programs to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and cost savings across Exelon. Provides direction and governance of end-to-end H&W processing and design new processes. Work directly with plan administrators to resolve plan, policy, or ERISA appeals issues. Manages 2-3 H&W administration team members and 5-6 sub-contractor team members who directly perform H&W administration work

Primary Duties

  • Administer the company's health & welfare and flexible spend programs and serves as the subject matter expert on these plans, including COBRA, and related H&W plans and programs. (40%)

  • Manages multiple external benefits providers to ensure the benefits programs are properly administered and meet specified performance requirements (20%)

  • Deliver of the annual open enrollment process. (10%)

  • Evaluate plan documents and procedures to ensure company and legal compliance (10%)

  • Develops, recommends, and implements new or modified processes and procedures to ensure customer satisfaction (10%)

  • Ensure a smooth integration of new H&W / FSA program plans and vendors for Exelon employees and retirees (10%)

Job Scope

Responsible for direct management of H&W Sr. Consultant(s) and HW Analyst(s). Manages the relationship and service delivery of approximately 20 service providers. Work efforts impact budget if plans are administered outside of Exelon plan documents or missed audit procedures. Significant independent decision-making opportunities and responsibility for setting operational direction. Significant executive interaction acting as Company representative for H&W benefit offerings. Operates independently with little or no supervision.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4-year degree with a minimum of 7 to 10 years of technical health & welfare benefits administration experience.

  • Solid project management skills.

  • Proven ability in vendor management.

  • Excellent customer service skills with strong communications skills.

  • Ability to work well in project environment. Strong leader with the ability to motivate others to work toward a shared business vision.

  • Communicates information to ensure it is delivered, received, understood, and results in action.

  • Makes decisions based on analysis of relevant information including problems, root cause analysis, priorities, critical issues, and alternatives.

  • Works with others to achieve common goals that result in more than could be done individually.

  • Applies sound management principles to maintain work flow, create change and shift paradigms.

Preferred Qualifications

CEBS H&W Plans certification or other H&W benefits certification

  • Annual salary will vary based on a candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors:USD $112,000.00/Yr. - USD $168,000.00/Yr.
