Job Description Summary

The Integration Programmer Analyst is a resource for design, development, testing, deployment, administration, and maintenance for business and clinical information technology. Performs as a leader information systems and interface projects. Coordinates with business support and clinical teams to analyze, communicate and validate requirements for the business and clinical applications and their interfaces. Facilitates workflow analysis and software design solutions to enable the business support and clinical teams to achieve their goals. Serves as coach/mentor for Technical Applications Analyst team members.

Job Description

The Integration Programmer Analyst will:

  • Support system applications and interfaces including installing upgrades, providing enhancements and problem management.
  • Provide consultation on process analysis and design, recommending alternative solutions, both automated and manual, to meet desired outcomes.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, information technology vendors, and other resources to develop maintenance, testing, communication and conversion plans for system.
  • Develop plans for assigned projects, determining objectives, identifying stakeholders, assigning responsibilities, and setting timelines.
  • Assist with third-party system selection and deploy acquired software systems, when necessary.
  • Design system interfaces and work with the user team to implement. Implement and update interface engine software tools.
  • Develop test plans, including integration and user acceptance testing, to verify systems satisfy design requirements.
  • Document and manage issues and problems establishing action plans including handoffs to ensure goals and objectives are achieved.
  • Develop documentation for training and/or maintenance support including problem resolution and escalation decision trees.
  • Mentor lower-level Technical Applications Analysts. Assist with development of plans and strategies for employee education including the preparation of end-user training materials and conducting training sessions as necessary.
  • Perform all other duties that may be assigned in the best interest of the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.

Reporting Relationships

  • Reports directly to the Director, IT and Corporate Applications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

Bachelor degree in information systems or related field.

Project Management Professional (PMP) credentials a plus.

Certif cation in one or more applications development tools and/or one or more interface engines.

Minimum 5 years of professional experience in systems development and/or information systems interface analysis.

Minimum 5 years of professional experience with applications development tools and/or front-end web technologies

Knowledge of healthcare business support processes in one or more area (e.g., Finance, not-for-profit, Payroll & HR, Procurement & Central Supply, Clinical, Revenue Cycle, etc.).

Experience with healthcare integration tools, Cerner Open Engine software, or web services/engines incorporating HL7 V3 standards.

Proven ability to manage software initiatives of varying sizes and complexity. Experience working within Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office tools.

Firm knowledge of workflow in one or more area and ability to work independently with users to define how technology can drive business processes.

Interpersonal skills necessary to actively listen and communicate effectively with IS peers and user.

Strong team-building skills to promote cooperation and collaboration. Knowledge of ANSI SQL scripting for troubleshooting.
