Job Description:
• Review GAAP books and records, periodic financial statements and capital account statements for the management company and its various affiliated entities and certain private equity funds.
• Supervise the monthly/quarterly close process and completion of related support and control documentation.
• Manage a team of fund accountant(s) and senior fund accountant(s) including technical training, review of work and professional development.
• Lead team to ensure optimal efficiencies by reviewing current processes, including but not limited to, maximizing use of accounting software capabilities.
• Prepare and review expense allocations to ensure compliance with the limited partnership agreements.
• Communicate with limited partners by reviewing responses or responding directly to accounting related investor inquiries.
• Prepare consolidated financial statements for management company and affiliated entities.
• Assist with management company forecasts and reporting.
• Apply the limited partnership agreement provisions to transactions and partner allocations.
• Review capital call and distribution allocations and partner notifications.
• Prepare and review responses to SEC inquiries/audits.
• Partner with the company's Tax function on partner and entity reporting and communications, among other projects.
Requirements
Job Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 6+ years in investment management operations or public accounting focused on investment management or equivalent experience
• Proficient in Excel (formulas, shortcuts, etc.)
• Detail oriented with a strong work ethic
• Team player willing to take on many different tasks in a small team environment
• Positive attitude that can contribute favorably to the finance team’s culture
• Intellectually curious and willingness to express ideas
• Ability to multitask
• CPA not required but encouraged
