General Description: The BeOnAir Network is an organization that instructs students in all areas of the broadcast industry to become the next generation of media professionals. The BeOnAir Network is a comprehensive institution that primarily emphasizes excellence in classroom instruction. The Education Coordinator is responsible for curriculum delivery and course scheduling for day or evening classes, as well as for hiring, daily management and supervision, and, if needed, dismissal of all instructors working during the day part supervised by the Education Coordinator. Evening shift Coordinators also have complete responsibility for campus maintenance and security upon the departure of day shift personnel. Additional responsibilities may include planning special events and training workshops. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. BeOnAir Network Core Purpose: Graduate students who are the preferred choice of broadcast media business to hire, partner, or outsource entry-level opportunities. Essential Job Functions: • Maintain a positive student climate for student learning and retention. • Implement curriculum delivery by instructors, including daily pre- and post- class meetings with each instructor • Hire and supervise instructors scheduled during Coordinator’s scheduled day-part; assure instructor compliance with school policies and teaching guidelines, discipline non-compliance, and primary decision on termination of instructors not complying with school policies and employment rules. • Provide each class with announcements, reinforcement of attendance policies, and instructor introductions. Emphasize sign-in and sign-out before leaving class. Assure instructors are correctly completing and turning in attendance sheets. • Maintain program syllabus and lesson plans, both of which are to be kept confidential and maintained in a secure location when not in use. • Supervise instructors and Graduate Assistants to ensure that lesson plans are followed and that students are engaged for the entire scheduled time. • Identifying and inviting new potential instructors to visit the school and discuss teaching or guest lecturing, including the engagement of new instructors in collaboration with the Education Director and Campus Director. Target prominent station personalities from significant TV and radio stations. • Complete all daily attendance sheets and grades. Maintain all student files on a no less than weekly basis, including documentation of all student services rendered by you and members of the education staff. • Supervise and direct all students, instructors, and instructor assistants on a daily basis to ensure accountability and that the educational process is being maintained and delivered at its highest standard for the success of our students. • Assist placement/intern coordinator with all intern and placement activities • Troubleshoot any equipment issues in a timely manner, including informing IT staff and the school director Work Experience Requirements This is an independent position supervised by the National Director of Curriculum and Faculty, Campus Director, and Director of Education. Education Requirements • 2-year college degree or equivalent experience. Minimum Prior Experience/Qualifications Required • At least two years of direct experience in the field of education. Physical Demands In order to fully service the staff and student needs, this position requires the employee to often physically move from department to department and present multiple lectures for long periods.
