As a vital member of the Data Strategy Advancement team, the Director, Program Management & Data Strategy Advancement will drive the delivery of strategic initiatives for the Enterprise Data Services & Enterprise Architecture organization, focusing on innovation, delivery excellence, continuous operating improvements and fostering an engaged and inclusive culture. This senior-level individual contributor role requires expertise in program management, executive presentations and storytelling, cross-team facilitation and the ability to translate vision into actionable plans. This role will interface with C-level executives to drive strategic initiatives forward and ensure alignment with organizational plans.

This role can have a Hybrid or Remote (ET core hours) work arrangement.  Candidates who live near one of our office locations (Hartford, CT; Charlotte, NC; Columbus, OH; Chicago, IL; Alpharetta, GA) will have the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday). Candidates who do not live near an office will have a remote work arrangement, with the expectation of coming into an office as business needs arise.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with engineering executives to drive the execution of our data strategic initiatives with a focus on collaboration, program transparency and execution.

  • Implement comprehensive frameworks to drive efficient and effective reporting across the program of work.

  • Provide program management support for key strategic initiatives.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate communication, resolve conflicts and drive consensus on project priorities.

  • Create compelling executive presentations and storytelling narratives to communicate concisely and effectively to C-level stakeholders.

  • Develop actionable plans from strategic visions, ensuring clear objectives, timelines and success metrics.

  • Champion change management efforts to support the adoption of new processes, technologies and initiatives.

  • Monitor and mitigate risks and issues, ensuring timely resolution and escalation as needed.

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, excellence and inclusion.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional work experience

  • 10+ years of IT program management, with at least 2 in a senior level role

  • Experience working in IT organizations and Agile methodology with a solid understanding of the software development lifecycle.

  • Hands on experience and understanding of the data space desired

  • Highly effective communicator with the ability to clearly and concisely articulate ideas, concepts and proposals, with the ability to effectively interface with C-level executives and stakeholders.

  • Strong written communications skills with thorough attention to detail, layout design, graphics and visualization capability with an emphasize on the ability to distill complex information into clear and concise messages and storytelling.

  • Strong understanding of change management principles and methodologies with demonstrated experience driving organizational transformation.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport, influence stakeholders, and drive collaboration and consensus across cross-functional teams.

  • Results-oriented and resourceful, capable of quickly taking control of responsibilities and establishing credibility as a strategic business partner.

The Data Strategy Advancement team is dedicated to driving innovation, excellence, improvement and culture within the Enterprise Data Services and Enterprise Architecture team. Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$134,800 - $202,200
