The Adler Planetarium seeks a Director of Information Technology to join our dynamic team on Chicagos Museum Campus. The Director will take an organizational-wide view of the museums information technology needs, both hardware and software, with a specific emphasis on long-term planning and policy. This role will focus on providing technical direction and resource capacity to the four-member IT team, which in turn serves the broader role of supporting business units in the museum. This person will work closely with their peers to determine compliance, threats, and opportunities in creating a long-term sustainable technology strategy. This individual will also be responsible for:
- Work with peers and departmental technology experts to create a long-term sustainable strategy, considering technology deficits, risks, opportunities, emerging technologies, and compliance. Design new workflows and collaborate with departments on digital transformation.
- Develop a future-proof policy around standards, replacement and migration, cybersecurity, AI, and other risks
- Provide hands-on support and guidance as needed in the rollout of hardware or software implementation
- Promote a data-based decision-making culture
