Job Purpose

The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) will lead the strategic planning process, the quarterly forecast and reporting of compensation-related key performance indicators, and development of financial reporting and analysis that aids in decision making. This role is responsible for delivering strategic and business insights through financial analysis, helping the company achieve its financial and operational objectives. The Director will work closely with the head of FP&A and key stakeholders across departments to drive financial performance and support data-driven decision-making.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Oversees annual strategic plan modeling and reporting of financial results.

  • Supports strategic and business initiatives by providing financial insights and scenario planning for business growth, mergers, acquisitions, new product development and other initiatives.

  • Leads the calculation and analysis of compensation-related key performance indicators.

  • Analysis of forecast and actual financial results.

  • Supports review and preparation of financial results and insights included in the annual plan, quarterly forecast, and quarterly actual results to senior management/Board materials (GAAP and Statutory).

  • Partners with other departments to deepen financial analysis and forecast processes such as Jackson’s product earnings profile.

  • Performs ad-hoc research and analysis.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis.

  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial planning and reporting tools (e.g., Anaplan, Power BI, etc).

  • Superior analytical, quantitative and problem solving skills, along with accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights.

  • Strong insurance business acumen and the ability to collaborate effectively with senior leaders across functions.

  • Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Knowledge of GAAP and statutory accounting principles and procedures with a focus on insurance.

  • Strong ability to influence and communicate effectively across all areas of the organization.

  • Strong collaboration/relationship management skills as well as an ability to work independently.

  • Ability to build collaborative relationships with stakeholders from various backgrounds and influence consistently without authority.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics required.

Master's Degree preferred.

8+ years experience in financial planning, reporting, and analysis with at least 3 years in a leadership role required.

Insurance/financial services industry experience preferred.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.

Base Pay:

$165,000.00 - $180,000.00. The base salary for this position may vary depending on experience, job-related knowledge, skills, and abilities. In addition to the base salary, this role will be eligible to participate in our annual bonus program and may be eligible to participate in our long-term incentives program. This role will also be eligible for compensated personal time off and holidays, health benefits, 401(k) plan with generous matching and profit sharing contributions, and other benefit programs according to the Company's employment policies and subject to the formal terms of such plans and programs.
