Job Summary
The Director of Advancement leads the Graham School\'s fundraising efforts. This role fosters a culture of philanthropy in support of Graham\'s mission, strategically oversees all fundraising efforts at the School, and serves as a critical member of the School\'s leadership team. This position manages an Associate Director of Advancement and serves as the lead strategist, in partnership with the Graham School dean, to secure gifts and build relationships with key stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- In partnership with the Graham School Dean, directs the vision and strategy for the School\'s fundraising efforts.
- Establishes comprehensive fundraising goals and priorities, designs strategies to meet those goals, and monitors progress against goals.
- Leads efforts to cultivate and close gifts with major gift prospects.
- Leads efforts to steward existing, long-time donors.
- Oversees Graham Circle, the giving society at the Graham School that currently includes nearly 200 households giving \$1,000 or more per year.
- Manages the fundraising team, including actively encouraging staff members\' professional development.
- Plans and executes an agreed upon target number of prospect visits per year, major gift solicitations, and fundraising dollar target.
- Arranges for prospects to meet with appropriate leadership, instructors, and staff when needed as part of a cultivation strategy.
- Collaborates with leaders across the School to ensure fundraising strategy aligns with the School\'s program goals and marketing strategies.
- Cultivates and maintains strong and collegial relationships with various University fundraisers and regional gift officers to ensure a coordinated approach to strengthening the prospects\' or donors\' relationship with Graham.
- Leads the preparation of annual development reports assessing progress toward achievement of goals. Provides expertise to analyze and evaluate information to identify trends and patterns, evaluates strategies and makes recommendations.
- Participates in the development of school or department fiscal year operating budget. Develops and manages program or event budget.
- Performs other related work as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field.
Work Experience:
Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 7+ years of work experience in a related job discipline.
