Summary:
Summary
As a formal clinical leader, the Director of Clinical Practice, RN – Western Region, is responsible for driving excellence in clinical operations and ensuring optimal patient outcomes at Rush Medical Group (RMG). This pivotal role involves developing and implementing innovative clinical strategies, fostering a culture of patient-centered care, and leading quality improvement initiatives. The Director of Clinical Practice, RN – Western Region will work closely with executive leadership and clinical teams to shape the future of healthcare, ensuring that RMG remains at the forefront of clinical excellence. This person exemplifies the Rush mission, vision, and values and acts in accordance with RUSH policies and procedures.
The position will be based out of Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL with a direct reporting relationship to the Associate Vice President, Associate Chief Nursing Officer of RMG.
Formal rounding, which includes travel to all sites within the Western region, is required at least monthly.

Job Requirements
• Current State of Illinois registered nurse license.
• Master’s degree or higher; if master’s degree is not in nursing, then must have a bachelor’s degree in nursing. If master’s degree is an entry-level master’s degree, must have an advanced degree in nursing.
• Current American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) specialty certification.
• Maintain current basic life support (BLS) certification.
• A minimum of five (5) years of registered nurse experience with at least two (2) years of ambulatory experience.

Evidence-Based Intervention
• The Director of Clinical Practice evaluates current research and clinical guidelines to refine evidence-based protocols which enhance patient outcomes.
• Utilizes evidence-based teaching and learning strategies to guide the development and implementation of education and training programs. The Director of Clinical Practice equips clinical teams with the knowledge and skills necessary to implement these practices effectively.
• The Director of Clinical Practice uses data-driven analysis of patient outcomes to assess the effectiveness of evidence-based interventions, refining and adjusting practices to improve care quality and meet evolving healthcare standards.
• Analyze complex patient cases and develop innovative treatment plans that address unique needs and improve outcomes.
• Align clinical practices with organizational goals by identifying opportunities for growth, efficiency, and service expansion.
• Implement strategies to enhance patient safety, minimize complications, and maintain the highest standards of care.
Relationships and Caring
• Builds strong relationships with multidisciplinary, and cross-functional teams by promoting open communication, mutual respect, and collaboration, ensuring that all staff work cohesively to provide patient-centered care.
• Prioritize patient experience by identifying and addressing pain points in the care delivery process.

• Provides leadership related to staffing and performance standards and scope of practice.
• Obtains/ maintains knowledge of innovations and trends in practice and technology and is a champion for change to enhance quality and improve efficiency.
• Coordinates financial management within respective areas of responsibility, including the development of annual budgets, variance analysis, and monthly financial reports. Supports the development of cost benefit analyses for new and/or expanding programs and services.
• Participates in the development of short- and long-term strategic planning objectives to ensure the continued growth in areas of responsibility; implements plans as approved.
• Demonstrates accountability for own professional practice, including progress toward achievement of annual goals.
• Actively leads clinic and department quality improvement/ quality assurance initiatives and leader standard work. Examples of the Director of Clinical Practice, RN Leader Standard Work includes:
o Participation in clinic huddles
o Completion of Quality Assurance/ Performance Improvement (QAPI) audits
