Key Responsibilities:

United is seeking a lead developer with a strong database and data analytics background in Chicago, IL for our Pricing ang Revenue Management systems building automated planning and reporting tools for the next generation revenue management system.

This position will work closely across our development and enterprise teams. We are interested in someone who knows or is willing to learn concepts of Airline Revenue Management, including pricing and passenger forecasting. A key competency is using this knowledge to:

  • Collaborate closely with the various technical and data analytics teams and business partners to support pricing and revenue management data needs

  • Expand revenue management data warehouse and analytics capabilities

  • Develop software applications and tools using agile development methodologies. Designs, develop and modify software applications/systems that meet specifications. Provides support to the software development.

  • Applies security code best practices throughout development cycle

  • Exposure to new technologies (Ex: Gen-Ai, Machine Leaning, Natural Language Processing)

  • Ability to prioritize work independently

  • Eager to ask questions, admit mistakes, and learn new things

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer/data engineering, data science, management information systems or something similar

  • 3+ years of SQL experience across database platforms including Oracle, MS SQL, etc.

  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of SDLC processes, inputs/outputs, standards and best practices. Exhibit advance knowledge of development methodologies, software design and design patterns

  • Proficient with AWS Redshift, RDS, and other AWS apps including Glue, EC2, S3 and Dynamo DB

  • Proficient in data analytic tools such as Power BI and Spotfire

  • Strong knowledge and experience with Python

  • Strong understanding of source code control tools (Gitlab) and branching model

  • Must have legal authorization to work in the United States for any employer without requiring sponsorship.

What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Strong understanding of enterprise data landscape with an airline focus

  • Experience with NoSQL Database like Mongo Db, Elasticache

  • Understanding of Spark framework

The base pay range for this role is $87,780.00 to $119,680.00.

The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
