Cybersecurity Exercise Planner

Job Description:

Exercise planners are key components in the organization’s strategy to improve cyber preparedness and reduce risk. Cyber Exercise Planners contribute to the training and coordination between various cyber security organizations and the Bank's lines of business. “The planner will design, execute, and facilitate cyber-focused exercises in order to identify cybersecurity opportunities for improvement. They will work with key partners to design threat scenarios, identify participants, and execute the exercise against the planned scenarios.

Event types vary across discussion-based exercises. Planners will be expected to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment to design multiple exercises based on a rolling 12-month forecast. Planners will receive broad exposure across multiple organizational units and levels of leadership. Applicants should have a proven track record of being able to navigate successfully across organizational lines, a solid foundation of cyber security knowledge and demonstrated performance designing and executing a variety of exercise types.

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of the incident command structure

  • Knowledge of information technology concepts

  • Understanding of risk management concepts

Desired Skills:

  • Expertise in using computers to accomplish productivity tasks

  • Ability to work across organizational boundaries to accomplish tasks

  • Ability to quickly assimilate complex discussions to identify and capture risk

To note: Role may require adjustment to work schedule based on regional exercise requirements.

This job is responsible for assessing the bank's technologies, applications, and overall security controls to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities that may impact Bank of America's information security. Key responsibilities include developing a better understanding of Bank of America's Global Information Security policy and relevant cyber security threats to complete security assessments. Job expectations include developing technical subject matter expertise to support partners, and adapting testing methods to emerging cyber security regulations and evolving threats.
