Description

We are seeking a Nonprofit Controller to manage financial and accounting operations in our organization located in Chicago, Illinois. This role involves overseeing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and regulations. You will play a crucial role in developing financial strategies, making recommendations to executive management, and mitigating financial and operational risks.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all financial and accounting procedures of the organization

• Regularly present clear and accurate financial reports to board members, stakeholders, and executives

• Develop and manage the organization's budget in accordance with strategic goals

• Develop financial strategies and make recommendations to executive management

• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings

• Monitor investment activities and establish financial policies and procedures

• Supervise and lead the financial division staff including financial assistants and accountants

• Engage with the organization's auditors for annual audit and any other required audit functions

• Implement and uphold the organization's policies and procedures to align with its mission

• Identify, manage, and mitigate financial and operational risks

Requirements

Skills:

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems, ADP - Financial Services, DCAA, ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning, ERP Solutions

• Comprehensive knowledge of accounting functions such as Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Proficiency in Auditing, Budget Processes, Fund Accounting - Non-Profit, Month End Close, Sage Intacct
