Description We are in search of a meticulous Attorney/Lawyer for a temporary role in our Chicago, Illinois office. This role is central to our operations in the transportation industry, with a particular focus on contract drafting and review, regulatory compliance, risk assessment, dispute resolution, corporate governance, intellectual property, and compliance training. The successful candidate will also provide general legal support as required.

Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, and negotiate various contracts, including transportation agreements and vendor contracts

• Ensure our operations comply with all relevant transportation industry regulations and federal, state, and local laws

• Identify legal risks associated with our business operations and develop strategies to mitigate these risks

• Handle legal disputes and litigation matters, collaborating with external counsel when necessary

• Provide legal guidance on corporate governance matters, including board meetings, shareholder agreements, and corporate policies

• Assist in protecting the company's intellectual property rights, including trademarks, copyrights, and patents

• Develop and conduct training programs for employees to ensure awareness and compliance with relevant legal requirements

• Provide legal advice and support on a wide range of legal issues as they arise in the course of business operations. Requirements • Must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in a legal role, specifically as an Attorney or Lawyer

• Extensive knowledge and experience in Civil Litigation, Claim Administration, Complaint Handling, and Transportation Law

• Proficiency in using legal software such as 3M, Case Management Software, LexisNexis, and other Management Systems

• Demonstrable skills in Briefing, Documentation, Logistics, Analytics, Communication, and Organizational agility

• Proven experience in Dispute Resolution, Corporate Governance, Intellectual Property including Trademark, Patent, Licensing, and Intellectual Property Law

• Should be adept at Risk Assessment, specifically Business risk assessment

• Experience in Compliance, Compliance Functions, Compliance documentation, and Compliance Management

• Must have the ability to handle and manage Intellectual Property - Licensing

• Ability to handle complex legal issues pertaining to Intellectual Property Law

• Previous experience in the logistics industry and knowledge of Transportation Law would be a plus

• Must possess strong communication and analytical skills

• Should have organizational agility to adapt to changing situations and requirements

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
