Summary About the Position: Position is an Administrative Support Assistant for the US Army Corps of Engineers, Chicago District located in Chicago Illinois Responsibilities Coordinate travel, prepares travel orders and vouchers. Maintain a Government Purchase Card. Assist in the development of the office's operating budget. Collect and organizes training plans and helps prepare annual training plan. Initiate requests for personnel actions with the use of automated systems such as DCPDS and AutoNoa. Knowledge and skill in the use of office automation packages to prepare reports in various Microsoft Office applications Knowledge of automated systems to enter, correct, and retrieve factual information, compile reports, prepare tables and graphs, monitor status, and train others in the use of such. Provide advice and support to managers on personnel matters and to employees regarding general financial, personnel, supply and/or other administrative personnel matters. Provide assistance in the in-processing of new employees. Ensure proper format of outgoing correspondence. Perform timekeeping duties. Specialized experience for GS-07: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal Service which includes procedural and administrative work in support of a Regulatory office by managing a high volume of incoming requests from the public and assisting project managers with final permit issuance. Receive and process regulatory requests from the public and manage actions within an electronic database such as Operation & Maintenance Business Information Link Regulatory Module (ORM) and the Regulatory Request System. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and Management Computer Skills Customer Service (Clerical/Technical) GS-07 Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06). Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct deposit of pay is required.
