Position: Account Manager – Intermodal
Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Account Manager to manage and oversee the movement of shipments. Key responsibilities include planning, quoting, entering, directing, and monitoring shipments to ensure efficient and timely delivery. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring all customer instructions are accurately entered into the system, tracking shipment milestones, and coordinating with the operations team to determine the best routing for the required service level.

We provide expedited less-than-truckload services, including local pick-up and delivery, shipment consolidation/deconsolidation, warehousing, and customs brokerage by utilizing a comprehensive national network of terminals. In addition, we offer truckload brokerage services, including dedicated fleet services, and intermodal, first- and last-mile, high-value drayage services, both to and from seaports and railheads, dedicated contract and Container Freight Station warehouse and handling services. Core Responsibilities & Duties:
Plan, quote, enter, direct, and monitor shipments
Ensure all customer instructions are entered into the system
Ensure necessary shipment milestones are present and in correct order
Work with operations team to determine routing for required service level
Negotiating rates with vendors and request spot quotes
Accruing vendor costs and working to revolve any variances
Sending invoices to the customers
Ensure freight and documentation meets security, TSA, and company compliance programs
Track and monitor entire process of cargo movement and keep customers up to date on movement details
Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements & Qualifications:
Five (5) years freight forwarding operations or account management experience preferred
Computer skills including Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
Strong attention to detail and ability to handle high volume of transactions
Ability to multitask and work well under pressure
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to coordinate efforts with other organizations
Strong problem-solving skills
Team oriented
