The University of Chicago\'s Department of Pediatrics, Section of Neonatology, is searching for full-time faculty members at any rank. Appointees will provide coverage at the University of Chicago Comer Children\'s Hospital NICU and contracted off-site locations. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity. We especially welcome applicants with expertise and/or formal training in quality improvement,ECMO, outcomes research, informatics, point-of-care ultrasound, or analysis of structured EMR data. Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) are dependent upon qualifications.

The Section of Neonatology is committed to excellence in education, research, patient care, and community service. It has 15 full-time faculty members and other academic staff who attend the 71-bed unit in Comer Children\'s Hospital and two community hospitals, providing compassionate, evidence-based treatments in nurturing, family-centered environments with state-of-the-art equipment. In collaboration with the Maternal-Fetal Service, the Section runs the University of Chicago Perinatal Network with more than 10 affiliated community hospitals. The Section has a fully accredited fellowship program with 10 trainees and a robust neonatal nurse practitioner program. Its faculty members are actively involved in research supported by federal and other extramural grants.

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the States of Illinois and Indiana, 3) be Board certified or board eligible in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine, and 4) have cared for newborns requiring intensive care within the past five years.
