Amex GBT Consulting is the consulting arm of Amex GBT and consists of 200+ consultants across the globe. Amex GBT Consulting brings the talent, tools and management consulting acumen needed to manage our client’s T&E spend and maximize their return on investment. Consulting focuses on business and operational strategy, strategic sourcing and program optimization to help our clients manage their travel spend. Our specialized expertise includes: Policy, Change Management & Compliance, Travel Program Management, Business Intelligence, Travel Category Management, Sustainability & ESG, and Cost Management.

The Consulting team consists of professionals from a wide variety of backgrounds - from the Air/Hotel/Ground industries, travel, management consulting, IT consulting and general management. Since its establishment in 2007, the practice has grown rapidly due to the maturity of the market and investments in the business.

What You’ll Do:

When you are assigned to a new project, you will work alongside a consulting manager or other consulting associates. At times you may be required to undertake projects of your own.

  • Help to guide and direct the customer in an efficient, effective manner to achieve the objectives as set for the project, within the agreed timelines and associated costs.

  • Interact across a range of subject matters – where applicable - including sourcing and category management, expense management, stakeholder engagement and communication, and spend management to name but a few.

  • Translate complex data into key messages and to present to internal & external stakeholders and counterparts.

  • Work on several smaller sized engagements to begin with and as your skills and abilities develop will transition to larger sized engagements all backed up by continual training and development.

Primary area of focus will be related to the Program Optimization practice line, which spans Travel Policy, Traveler Behavior Analytics and Optimization, as well as Change Management strategy development and delivery.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A self-starter with experience in client facing environment

  • An ambitious consulting associate to join our delivery team based virtually in the US or Canada

  • Collaborative, energetic, flexible and can-do attitude

  • Analytically minded, understands data with ease and is comfortable in its manipulation to draw insights and conclusions

  • Can multi-task easily and manage competing priorities

  • Ability to solve problems with quantitative thinking

  • Communication:

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, listening ability and written presentation skills. Ability to deal with ambiguity and present/discuss work results in a compelling manner

  • Ability to both maintain current programs as well as be creative in finding new opportunities for efficiency and savings in an established program

  • Problem Solving & Analysis:

  • Develops hypotheses and identifies data to evaluate based on client needs as well as industry trends and subject matter expert observations. Reviews and validates analyses, develops options/alternatives, and creates insightful recommendations in context of total engagement. Strong innovative mindset

  • Understanding of both TMC travel data and supplier/third party data (Air/Hotel/Car rental supplier, Corporate Card, Expense, etc.)

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools and reporting (i.e., Tableau, Microsoft Office)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to accommodate occasional client travel up to 10%

  • Relevant travel experience, such as procurement, strategic sourcing, etc.

  • Experience interacting effectively with people at all levels within a team or client organization

  • Consulting, project management, analytic and travel/air/hotel industry experience

Location

United States

The US national annual base salary range for this position is from $46,000 to $93,000. The national range provided includes the base salary that GBT expects to pay for the role. Actual base salary will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location.
