Crozer Keystone Health System Trauma Performance Improvement Coordinator - Part Time in Chester, Pennsylvania
Position Summary:
Assists the Trauma Program Medical Director (TPMD) and the Trauma Program Director (TPD) to improve the quality of trauma care throughout the continuum of care. Collaborates with the TPMD and the TPD to implement and assure adherence to the Trauma Program’s Quality Improvement program and the PTSF through concurrent and retrospective clinical and chart review of trauma patients.
The work of the quality improvement coordinator will facilitate this process with the Trauma Medical Director, who will be ultimately responsible for the quality improvement program. Effective continuous quality improvement programs depend upon concurrent monitoring of the events surrounding the care and outcome of injured patients. Rational decision-making aimed at improving trauma care must be based upon a detailed understanding of the causes, treatment, and outcomes of injury.
Accountabilities/Criteria:
Coordinates the Trauma Performance Improvement (PI) Program for the hospital in collaboration with the Trauma Medical Director and Trauma Program Manager.
Maintenance of the Trauma PI database to ensure adequate documentation as required by the Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation (PTSF). Must have the ability to produce clear effective reports and to track issues over time. ?
Assist the Trauma Program Medical Director and the Trauma Program Director to evaluate the effectiveness of the Trauma Team and the Trauma Program
Coordinates and participates in trauma performance improvement forums/committees
Serves as a liaison and collaborates with all departments involved in the care of trauma patients.
Education and Training:
3-5 years experience in either ED, Critical Care or floor that cares for trauma patients
Master’s Degree (preferred)
Trauma Outcomes and Performance Improvement Course completed within 6 months of hire
Registration, Licensure and/or Certification:
BA/BS Degree in Nursing
RN Licensure in PA
ACLS/PALS/ATLS-ATCN training
CCRN, CEN and/or TCRN preferred (must be obtained within 2 years of employment)
