Responsibilities

Director of Operations

The Director of Operations will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for an assigned Market Area. The Director of Operations will work closely with the Site Managers for each Hauling and Transfer Station site in the assigned Market Area to ensure that strategic, safety, and budgetary goals are met.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in strategic planning efforts to determine direction and annual goals for the company. Based on company goals establish direction and goals specific to assigned market area.

  • Monitor performance against budget for assigned market area, and collaborate with Finance to identify trends and issues, and resolve discrepancies. Work with Site Managers to identify necessary actions to ensure efficient performance.

  • Work with Site Managers on workforce planning to anticipate and ensure adequate staffing levels. Present staffing plans to executive team for budgetary approval as needed.

  • Review purchase and expense records to monitor spending at each site.

  • Monitor and report on productivity and performance. Identify opportunities for increased productivity across multiple sites.

  • Collaborate with the sales team on the development of sales strategies and goals, to ensure target markets are aligned to increase productivity and efficiency. Provide input on pricing and cost analysis for bid preparation.

  • Model a strong commitment to workplace safety and administer company safety programs by conducting daily, weekly, and monthly safety meetings, facility inspections, and ensuring compliance to all OSHA and DOT regulations.

  • Train and coach employees on general safety policies, DOT drug and alcohol program and proper use of assigned equipment, will administer corporate policies and ensure safety compliance.

  • Monitor and coach Site Managers and other management staff on performance.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering MBA preferred

  • A minimum of ten-years experience in senior operations positions with experience asa team leader with the ability to mentor, coach and develop direct reports

  • Strong background in operations transformation

  • Demonstrated ability to use a data-driven approach to decision making

  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities working across a matrixed organization.

  • Proven ability to work efficiently with minimal direct supervision.

  • Demonstrated ability to motivate others to achieve results.

  • Proven experience meeting business commitments, driving change & implementing process improvements.

Salary Range Minimum

USD $135,000.00/Yr.

Salary Range Maximum

USD $160,000.00/Yr.
