Essential Duties and Responsibilities : These duties and responsibilities described below represent the general tasks performed on a daily basis by RadiologicTechnologists. Any other duties as needed to drive to the vision fulfill the mission and abide by the values of the organization.
Produce a variety of high-quality radiographs through proper positioning and technique
Pre-assess patient by reviewing history and collecting current information
Perform diagnostic studies as requested by physician Assumes responsibility for maintaining skills and completing all competencies to enhance professional development

Maintain confidentiality of patient and of patient and department information with no infractions as noted by the supervisor
Attend required hospital-wide orientations, meetings, and in-services
Fully implement and maintain radiation safety by following department, NRC, and State policies and regulations to keep exposure "ALARA"
Initiate interventions and health education according to provider guidelines on radiographic test performed
Resolve patient concerns promptly
Provide emergency care as necessary and as directed by physician
Perform visual preventative safety inspections and report dangerous department or equipment conditions to the appropriate personnel
Maintain department’s quality improvement standards
Order supplies and restock rooms as necessary
Participates in department activities to maintain smooth, efficient workflow, providing quality care in a timely manner
Demonstrates responsibilities for individual performance and efficient utilization of products, supplies, equipment and time to ensure the timely completion of duties and promote financial viability through provision
Demonstrate a commitment to flexible work scheduling when necessary to ensure patient care
Attend required hospital-wide orientations, meetings, and in-services

Presents Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
Responsible for rooming patients and prepare them for examination
Takes patients vital signs which include blood pressure, height, weight and documents in EMR
Updates patient medical record including medications, allergies, past medical & surgical history
Manages Physician orders by submitting to appropriate departments such as imaging, labs, scheduling surgeries, or referrals to specialists. Confirm all orders are completed and that results have been sent to ordering provider.
Preps procedure room for minor procedure and assist with those procedures as needed.
Prepares exam rooms for provider dependent on appointment type.
Cleans exam room and beds after each appointment and restocks medical supplies daily.
Assist physician and Acute Care Providers with patient examinations.
Draws blood, perform EKG, SWAB test and any additional clinical test within clinic.
Obtain Prior Authorizations as needed.
Able to check in patients, register patients, verify insurance, scan documents in patient charts, answer phones, return phones, and schedule appointments.
Education and Experience
Minimum Required Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited licensure program in Radiological Technology.
Experience: Two years experience (preferred) as a radiologic technologist. Experience in a physician practice or urgent care preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: For limited radiology technologists, being a Certified Medical Assistant is required. Virginia employees must hold Virginia licensure in Radiological Technology . North Carolina Employees must be registered with the state. All must be CPR-BLS certified
