Job Title: Engineering Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Engineering Technician/Field Service Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the removal and reinstallation of equipment serviced in our shop, including electric motors, pumps, and gearboxes. This role requires the use of basic rigging skills to safely move equipment, precision alignment of rotating equipment, performing mechanical diagnostics, and working on existing equipment in customer facilities. The technician will interface with end users to determine the cause of mechanical failures and provide proactive solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Remove and reinstall equipment such as electric motors, pumps, and gearboxes.

  • Utilize basic rigging skills to safely move equipment on and off foundations and transportation means.

  • Perform precision alignment of rotating equipment using dial indicators and laser alignment equipment.

  • Conduct mechanical diagnostics on operational equipment using vibration analysis, physical inspection, and visual examination.

  • Perform in-place repairs and field maintenance on existing equipment in customer facilities.

  • Interface with end users to assist in determining the cause of mechanical failures and provide proactive solutions.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical environments.

  • Familiarity with industrial safety environments.

  • Knowledge of rigging practices.

  • Ability to meet physical requirements, including standing for extended periods, bending, stooping, kneeling, using both hands, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

  • Good communication skills, positive attitude, and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

  • Basic computer skills and ability to complete written reports.

  • High mechanical aptitude.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Training and experience in vibration analysis, laser alignment, and repair of electric motors, pumps, and generators.

  • Driver's license.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55000.00 - $75000.00
