This is a Software Engineering Leadership position, that will lead the Software Engineering function in Ford Pro Tech India, with oversight of 150 plus Software Engineers. The candidate is expected to ensure quality hiring, sponsor Communities of Practices, drive continous reskilling, ensure fair performance reviews and manage a team of Managers who are responsible for all the Software Engineers.

Additionally, this role will also be globally responsible for the Architecture and Engineering Decisions/Execution for a Product group and will play the role of Product group Anchor. In that role, the candidate is expected to provide Technology Leadership to 7 to 10 product teams, ensure technology roadmap addresses critical business outcomes and achieve Product KPIs impacting business outcomes.

What you’ll be able to do:

Role:

• Provides the technical direction for the product group by guiding teams to build and deliver foundational cloud capabilities

• Works closely with the Product Group Managers to include continuous technical improvement in the Product Group roadmap

• Collaborates with other Engineering Managers to reduce complexity across the portfolio, enhance interoperability between services, and make key design decisions across the portfolio

• Clearly communicate technology strategy and vision to team members and internal and external stakeholders

• Provide thought leadership for the development, structure, technology, and tools used within Ford Pro

• Design and deliver industry-leading products and services to maximize value and productivity for commercial customers

• Be involved in full stack development and implement end-to-end components of proprietary software products

• Innovate and operate with an iterative, agile and user-centric perspective.

• Clearly communicate technology strategy and vision to team members and internal and external stakeholders.

• Ensure engineering excellence (e.g. best practices and quality) is achieved within product line.

• Implement robust CI/ CD processes and development methodologies in Software Engineering within the Product Line.

• Collaborate with other Product Line Anchors to reduce complexity across the portfolio, enhance interoperability between services, and make key design decisions

Provide thought leadership for the development, structure, technology, and tools used within Ford Pro.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field Master’s degree desirable

• Experience 10+ years with progressive responsibilities in Software Engineering, Architecture and Agile Framework.

• Must be able to operationalize and assist teams with abstract technology concepts.

• Strong demonstrated competencies on cloud and digital platforms.

• Strong communication, collaborative, and influencing skills.

• Proven ability to work closely with senior leadership.

• Strong personal presence and capabilities to resolve technical concerns.

• Experience with cloud services and platform knowledge.

• Experience with Lean methodology & eXtreme Programming.

• Demonstrated understanding and ability to drive highly available consumer ready Internet properties and technical platforms.

• Identifies areas within software delivery process and application ecosystem that require cohesion across the platform and addresses them through common engineer

• Assess the technology feasibility of the product group roadmaps.

• Employs and/or champions software processes, culture, best practices, and techniques.

• Actively works to identify and remove/ mitigate risks and blockers to product delivery.

Assesses the overall health of the product and prompts key decisions to move it forward.
