Job Summary
POSITION SUMMARY The Solutions Engineer I is responsible for providing post sales engineering support to the Inside Account Management team. This person will have technical knowledge of OSI model, IP Subnetting, Routing protocols, Network and Security products and services. Additionally, this position must have a strong understanding of networking design, specifically network architecture and function, routing protocols, multicast, and QoS/Cos.
Job Description
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide Post Sales solution engineering support for all field resources including Account Executives, Strategic Account Managers, and Global Account Directors
Provide sustaining engineering support for the existing client base
Handle moves, adds and changes (MACD)
Develop strong understanding of the use of Comcast Business Global internal application suite
Join project status meetings
Manage & resolve Operations escalations, incidents and problem management
Administer Self-service portal:
Customer Portal Training
Account creation
Quality Control
Additional duties as assigned
SKILLS / ABILITIES / KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge:
Working knowledge of: OSI model, IP Subnetting, Routing protocols, Network and Security products and services, back office systems, and fundamental understanding of product stack for network and security
Technical knowledge of Software Defined Networking (SDN) required
Strong understanding of networking design, specifically:
Network architecture and function;
Routing protocols;
Multicast;
QoS/CoS
Fundamental understanding of Security and UCaaS
Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including intermediate to expert level capability in Excel, Smartsheet’s, Word and various databases. Knowledge of Formulas, Macros and other toolsets required.
Able to merge multiple data sets and perform analysis including customer site/service data, billing components and other information into useable data.
Strong organization, prioritization, and rationalization skills
Ability:
Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced, team-oriented environment
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Sound decision-making and judgment, especially under pressure
Must be a self-starter, efficient in achieving goals and proactive in pursuing subsequent duties
Ability to perform duties with little supervision
Ability to work effectively and add value as a team member
Must be able to coordinate across various groups and functional teams
Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also be extremely effective independently
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or any equivalent combination of experience and training
EXPERIENCE
2-5 years industry experience in enterprise networking or related field experience required
Project Management experience is a benefit to assist with the planning and oversight of large customer implementations
Network Design background highly desired
CERTIFICATES / LICENSES / REGISTRATIONS
Fortinet NSE 3 certification preferred or equivalent
