Job Summary

If you are looking for an opportunity in Order Engineer team, Emerson has an exciting role for you! You will be a part of the team located in FCEC, Chennai and will review the customer purchase order from Sales & LBP teams, transform them into accurate Bills of materials (BOM) and release the order to MEA factory, drive continuous improvement on metrics and ensure accurately detailed technical order constructions in the business systems at all the stages of manufacturing.

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

• Perform Detailing activities necessary to communicate an accurate Bill of materials to Manufacturing.

• Review customer orders technically:

• Ensure all customer orders are accompanied by required specification/sizing sheets, data sheets and other supporting documents as applicable.

• Verify product services required in the customer order (tests, certificates, COO, VDRL etc.) are available and applicable to the products selected.

• Identify special instructions in the order and/or attachments and ensure they are properly captured and addressed in the customer order.

• Review customer orders from commercial perspective by validating pricing/commission for standard/special constructions/products services per internal guidelines.

• Communicate with internal sales team, LBPs, Global Industry Sales, R&D Engineering, Project management to ensure proper form, fit and function for the bill of materials provided.

• Verifies the completeness and correctness of product structure against the technical specs and ensure that the selected product is suitable for the service.

• Monitor the progress of orders and escalate issues to ensure timely release of items to manufacturing.

• Provide a high level of ownership of completed work through the production process, includes items in manufacturing, assembly and Bill of Materials related questions.

• Support the order engineers in preparing Bills of Materials for special valve construction and initiate request to R&D Engineering team for new drawings as and when required.

• Support change order owner in determining the change order charges and delivery impact

• Works with Sales team, operations team, and other internal functions on the customer requirements and resolve issues

• Provides timely response to order enquiries and act as a point of escalation when necessary.

• Responsible for the providing the monthly reports addressing Unclean orders, New Design requests, new part number creations with Customer specific processing, change order reports, Right First-Time issue reports.

• Participates and embraces in continuous process improvements focused on systems and reporting.

• Create codification logic of special construction Finished Goods (FG) and standardize the process.

• Communicate with Emerson factories/ strategic sourcing team to price special components to maintain unit price of the newly created items and finished goods.

• Attach additional specs documents (Parts drawing, engineering specs, etc.) of the newly created items as adequate.

• Utilize and understand global configuration tools of PRM products groups (Regs & PRVs).

Who You Are:

You have good attention to details and can review sales order requirements against Engineering Documents to produce High Quality Bill of Materials. You can identify the right part among the list of part numbers that looks the same. You can identify any discrepancies or conflicts based on Engineering logics. You can communicate with the Project Engineers/Application Engineers effectively to resolve any issues with Sales order requirements. You actively seek input from pertinent sources to make timely and well-informed decisions.

For This Role, You Will Need:

• 3 years’ overall experience

• Knowledge in SAP, Oracle Business system, Microsoft or any other ERP system is mandatory

• General understanding on the quote to cash processes

• Mechanical / Technical drawing interpretations

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:

• Basics of SAP or any relevant ERP.

• Knowledge of Pressure relief valves and regulators

• Prior experience of 2+ years in similar industry or in Bill of materials function

• Strong interpersonal skills.

• Learning agility for fast learning of work processes
