Major Responsibilities:

  • Has full technical responsibility for planning, interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating the engineering assignments and activities on the project in liaison with the Project Engineering Manager.

  • Establish / manage the overall engineering budget, maintains ownership, and ensures execution within approved budgets.

  • Manage Engineering Bulk Quantities including Concrete, Piles, Steel, Pipe, Cable Trays and Cables. Responsible for bulk releases per schedule, monitor qty changes and manage variation requests and trends with client.

  • Manage packages like Reclaim Feeders, Grate Magnet, Centrifugal blowers/fans, dust collector system.

  • Develop Module Execution Plan including Work Scope Matrix between Mod Yard, Field, Spool & Steel Fabricator and Home Office Engineering.

  • Manage Underground Services Design and Execution including Gravity Systems, Pressurized Piping System and Other Underground Services like Ductbank, Raceway and Cathodic Protection.

  • Establishes / manages the project design, engineering scope and maintains ownership

  • Coordinates, manages the statutory and company specific design reviews are undertaken, i.e., Model Reviews, HAZOP, LOPA, etc. Ensures that requisite supporting documentation is completed.

  • Establishes / manages and reviews the engineering project schedule for the project/program carries out any actions to prioritize /re-schedule the engineering deliverables and personnel necessary to meet the overall schedule.

  • Plans, forecasts, identifies the necessary engineering resources to support the program workload requirements program release dates for input to the functional department

  • Will act as the primary interface for Project Engineering Manager for all engineering and personnel matters within the project/program

  • Provides oversight management of technical documentation to procurement, construction, and third parties.

  • Co-ordinates technical and commercial reviews on engineering outputs from the project / program, reviews contract documentation.

  • Undertakes design co-ordination meetings with construction at various phases including implementation of Design for Safe Construction Procedure.

  • Instigates and reviews TIC reduction/ value engineering opportunities / proposals.

  • Ensures that statutory and company specific design reviews are undertaken and are in accordance with QA procedures in place at the time.

  • Anticipates internal and/or external business challenges and/or regulatory issues.

  • Working knowledge of industry / regulatory standards and design criteria within the engineering disciplines.

  • Ability to develop innovative ideas to reduce project total installed costs (TIC).

  • Ability to present technical design issues to customers and suppliers and the ability to recommend solutions based on knowledge and experience.

  • Understands BSAPs and uses tools for digital data delivery.

  • Proficient execution planning, resource allocation skills.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • A recognized bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university with over 20 years of working experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Executed at least one EPC project in Project Engineer Role preferably in Metal & Mining Industries.

  • Experience in working in Mining and Metals industry Design. Experience in Lithium Processing facility is desirable.
