A local client is offering a direct hire opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in their shared services office located in Chattanooga, Tennessee. This role involves comprehensive general ledger responsibilities, as well as the handling of financial analysis for several business entities.
Responsibilities:
• Execute general ledger duties, including the preparation and posting of journal entries
• Conduct account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy of all transactions
• Monitor and manage fixed assets within the company
• Perform financial analysis for various business entities to support decision-making
• Resolve issues related to accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Utilize Microsoft Excel for data management and analysis
• Ensure timely completion of the month-end close process
• Balance tasks for multiple entities, demonstrating strong multi-tasking abilities
• Prepare and adjust journal entries as necessary
• Maintain the general journal, recording all business transactions accurately.
Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a senior accountant role or similar within the finance consulting industry
• Proficiency in account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations
• Demonstrated expertise in managing general ledger and preparing journal entries
• Proficient in adjusting journal entries and maintaining the general journal
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting
• Experience in executing month-end close processes accurately and in a timely manner
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) credentials are preferred
• Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for liaising with clients and team members
• Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team
• Solid understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
