Job Description

A client of Insight Global's is actively looking for a Physical Substation Group Lead to sit remotely and come onsite a couple times a month. The group lead will be responsible for project management and people management (50%/50%). They will manage a group of 10 engineers and designers in the physical group and will be responsible for conducting performance reviews, establishing work assignments, performing technical oversight, and forecasting workload for the team. From a project management perspective, they'll oversee any projects for upgrades and/or new builds. This includes attending scoping meetings, doing site visits, and helping prepare estimates and bid packages. Overseeing both individual deliverables and managing a team responsible for producing deliverables such as: general arrangements, equipment plans, elevations, sections control house layouts, grounding analysis/design, switchgear design, conduit and cable design, creation of bills of materials etc., utilizing AutoCad.

Skills and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering

• 8+ years of physical substation design experience (69kv to 500kv) - EIT or PE license

• PMP certification

• Experience in generation plant switchyard physical design null
