Actalent Production Manager in Chatsworth, California

Job Title: Production SupervisorJob Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Supervisor to oversee production supervisors, set job priorities, assign tasks, track labor, conduct performance reviews, and enforce adherence to Quality System, Process and Test procedures, product specifications, and company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise production supervisors and set job priorities.

  • Assign tasks, track labor, and conduct performance reviews.

  • Enforce adherence to Quality System, Process and Test procedures, product specifications, and company policies.

  • Coordinate production priorities with the Planner, Test, and Stock Room Team Leader.

  • Report material and capacity issues.

  • Measure and drive team throughput, track work order status, set productivity expectations, and measure output.

  • Provide daily updates on job status, issues, and necessary corrective actions.

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and champion productivity improvement projects.

  • Maintain excellent shop floor housekeeping and Foreign Object Debris (FOD) management through the 5S process.

  • Track, analyze, and implement initiatives to reduce production rework and lower scrap rates.

  • Assign and supervise MRP rework to maintain a near-zero balance.

  • Collect and process shop floor scrap through the Quality Engineer.

  • Develop training plans for new employees, provide ongoing training to the existing team, and maintain training logs.

  • Facilitate and document cross-training.

  • Utilize the MRP System to generate reports, status work orders, customer orders, and manage stock and parts.

  • Develop and maintain manufacturing routers and work instructions in collaboration with Manufacturing Engineers.

  • Analyze workmanship issues, identify root causes, and document corrective actions.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in using MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems.

  • Experience in leading Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives.

  • Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, and 5S methodologies.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an electronics assembly production environment.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Analytical skills with demonstrated experience in Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) implementation.

  • Proficiency in using MS Office software suite, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with at least 5 years of experience in Operations, including 3 years of supervisory experience.

  • Prior experience in the Aerospace/Defense industry is preferred.

  • Fluency in English is required; Spanish language skills are a plus.

  • Well-organized, flexible, and able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Reliable attendance and the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.

  • Initiative in learning and adapting work methods to accomplish tasks efficiently.

Work Environment

The role involves working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The candidate will utilize technologies such as the MRP System and MS Office software suite. The position requires maintaining excellent shop floor housekeeping through the 5S process and ensuring adherence to company policies and quality systems.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
