Hiring Woodworker/ Pay $25-30 1ST SHIFT

Job Description

This position will serve as a shop support specialist in the wood shop. The wood shop manufactures store fixtures used to display products in retail stores such as faucets, makeup, shoes, belts, etc. This individual will assist in all roles of the wood shop, from joinery and assembly to cutting and machine operation. A strong knowledge of woodworking theory is required to teach others and help grow the operation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in joinery and assembly tasks.

• Operate cutting and machine tools.

• Use hand tools, power tools (nail gun), and glue for assembly and adjustments.

• Select correct parts based on written directions and perform visual inspections of parts during assembly.

• Assemble fixtures using jigs, glue, nails, and clamps.

• Continuously seek ways to improve processes based on employee feedback.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 2+ years of woodworking or cabinet building experience

Work Environment

Our Client has two areas separated by a wall: a complete assembly area and a machine area. Candidates will work mainly in the assembly area but may occasionally go to the machine area to grab parts. The assembly area is very clean and well-lit. As this is a wood shop, there is a smell of wood and some dust; however, there are very strong vacuum and ventilation systems in place.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chaska, Minnesota.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00
