University of Virginia IR Technologist Intern- Interventional Radiology -Full Time in Charlottesville, Virginia
Interventional Radiology Interns will be ARRT Registered Radiologic Technologists responsible for acquiring the foundational education and clinical training necessary to develop the knowledge and skill required of an entry level Vascular-Interventional Technologist. Upon completion of the Interventional Radiology Internship, interns will be required to sit for and pass the ARRT Vascular-Interventional Registry before being considered for hire as a Interventional Radiology Tech.
Interns will conduct themselves in a respectful manner; assuming the clinical responsibility and critical thinking required of a Registered Radiology Technologist and outlined in the ARRT Standard of Ethics.
Interns will complete 12 months of required training consisting of the following elements:
Complete assigned clinical rotations with the support of technologist preceptors.
Attend all scheduled didactic lectures and demonstrate learned knowledge through assessment.
Apply learned knowledge and critical thinking skills to support technologist colleagues in the care of patients.
Meet quarterly clinical competency goals as outlined by the internship.
Take call as assigned with the support of a technologist preceptor.
Support patient care through all other assigned duties.
In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
Position Compensation Range: $30.13 - $48.21 Hourly
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Graduate of an accredited JRC program in Radiography required.
Associate's Degree in Radiography preferred.
Experience: No experience required
Licensure: Registered Radiologic Technologist through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT R.T.) required. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing and sitting for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping and reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 - 100lbs. May be exposed to fumes, cold, heat, radiation, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
